National Policy for Support of Local Development (2005-2006) (link to program details, Portuguese only)

A program of studies, surveys and discussions to identify obstacles and suggest practical measures to boost local development initiatives already underway to increase its size and scope and to encourage new potential to emerge.

Projeto Juventude (Youth Project) (2003-2004) (link to program details, Portuguese only)

A comprehensive diagnosis and a proposed set of guidelines and policies for youth, produced with the participation of Brazilian youth, as well as experts and social actors involved with the issue.

Projeto Reforma Política (Political Reform Project) (2001-2002) (link to program details, Portuguese only)

Seminars and studies by experts that produced ideas and input for the discussion of political reform expected by the country, addressing issues such as campaign finance, party loyalty and the obligatory vote.

Projeto Segurança Pública (Public Safety Project) (2001-2002) (link to program details, Portuguese only)

In 15 months of activities, resulted in a thorough analysis of the problem of public safety and proposed a series of consistent and viable actions.

Projeto Energia Elétrica (Electric Power Project) (2001-2002) (link to program details, Portuguese only)

A series of meetings, studies, debates and seminars that provided a comprehensive diagnosis of the energy crisis that led to the “big blackout” in 2001 – and offered a set of proposals to resolve the crisis.

Projeto Fome Zero (Zero Hunger Project) (2000-2001) (link to program details, Portuguese only)

A proposal for a nutritional security policy for Brazil produced by experts, NGO representatives, researchers, grass-roots organizations and social movements.

Projeto Moradia (Housing Project) (1999-2000) (link to program details, Portuguese only)

With the collaboration of many sectors linked to the issue, the project presented practical solutions to the problem of housing shortage in Brazil, beginning with the innovative concept of “decent housing”.
